THE TRIP - WEEK 10,11,12,13 (part 1) - USA

Different continent again, need another van then. So here it is, wheel on the wrong side (with apologies to my American readers!) and no gear stick! Surely they will not just let me drive out in to LA traffic just like that!? Yes they did, oh dear. At least there was no massive deposit here like there was in NZ. (Did I mention that? £1,700 riding on bringing the NZ van back intact. Got every penny back!)
It seems to be true what they say, things are bigger in the USA. Most of the RV's here would not have fitted on some of the sites in NZ. This one has bikes on the back saw one that was towing a Range Rover!

After a cowardly couple of days hiding from the traffic, I set out north to find the Pacific Coast Highway. Found it after passing many a familiar name. They seem to have a strange signposting system here. All the streets and roads have directions to them but not, it seems, the towns. That's fine if you know where the roads go!

The knife and fork must be for the turkey dinner eh?

And you thought it was Hamish writing all this, ha!!

After arriving at my next camp site I took a walk to see the local lake. Quite a welcome I thought!

Thankfully I never saw any of that type of wildlife but did find a delightful place for a walk and a bite to eat.

It appears that it is not just Australia that could do with some rain. As you can see, this lake was way down from where it should be.

I decided to spend the Easter weekend here, as it was such a nice spot and it meant I could have a break from my holiday! Very tiring all this enjoyment.

Headed in to the local town each morning for breakfast (and Internet, it's where I am now!). Very wild west look about it. Sure I saw the 'Wako Kid' walk past!

Just a pretty view to finish this edition.

Back soon.
